Sometimes being a follower of Christ and writing for God can feel very difficult and tiresome. You want to honour Him with your gift, but you also want to become prosperous doing it. And sometimes, that balance feels impossible, especially when you’re not making money and your bills just keep piling up.
But here’s the thing: the Bible is packed with principles for EVERYTHING, including prosperity, not just the money aspect of it, but in peace, purpose, and productivity as well. Father doesn’t want your writing to just exist; He wants it to multiply. We serve a multiplying God. He’s already placed the gift inside you. Now, it’s about learning to manage it wisely. And this is why I wrote this article.
And before you roll your eyes — no, this isn’t one of those “you have to write Christian fiction to glorify God” talks. You can glorify Him in every genre — fantasy, poetry, non-fiction, romance, even that spicy manuscript sitting in your drafts (we’ll pray over that one later).
Prosperity doesn’t come from the genre you write in. It comes from how and why you write. Is it true to your soul, is it connected to your purpose?
If this is your first time visiting, I like to keep our articles mid-length, not University length. Anything that needs more attention, I also create a guide or workbook. Let’s get into 7 prosperous ways to write like someone who knows their creativity is both their divine purpose and profitable.
Write From Stewardship, Not Trying To Make A Prosperous Idea
Have you ever noticed or wondered why we sometimes treat our creativity like it’s running out? Like if we don’t post something by Tuesday at 9:45 a.m our whole existence will vanish into the algorithm?
That’s hustling, striving (not working from stewardship).
But stewardship? Stewardship says, “This is God’s gift. My job is to manage it, not manhandle it.”
Matthew 25 reminds us when Jesus talks about servants who were each given talents — some multiplied theirs, one buried his. Guess which one got the “I’m disappointed in your choice” look? Yep, the one who let fear freeze him. Striving is fuelled by fear. Stewardship is powered by faith.
When you stop chasing results and start tending to your craft — reading, revising, rewriting, learning — you’ll start to see fruit without the hustle. The most prosperous writers aren’t the ones hustling hardest; they’re the ones writing from rest, purpose, and obedience.
Choosing Purpose Over Platform To Become Prosperous
As always, I’m always going to keep it real with you, writing for likes is exhausting and you’ll never truly find your true audience you were created to serve. When you write for applause, you burn out. When you write for purpose, you bloom. I don’t know if anyone in my writing space knows this, but I used to post daily on Tiktok, Youtube, Pinterest, and yes Insta. I grew my account to over 10k on Tiktok, but there was no direction, my videos barely reached 400 views. Now, with a completely brand new (only 3 months old) account, serves writers providing them with useful information and tips I’ve learned in over 20 years as a Humanities Student in the top University and Colleges, my content serves anywhere from 1500-50k views. Providing free information to help them along their writing journey.
Prosperous writing starts when you remember why you’re doing this in the first place. Maybe it’s to help other women heal, to tell stories you never got to see growing up, or to show the beauty of redemption in a world that’s allergic to hope. For me, it’s teaching and sharing knowledge. Your purpose will help ground you. Platforms will come and go — algorithms are constantly shifting, trends die within the month, but purpose outlives all of that.
So when you’re feeling unseen or like no one’s reading your words, ask yourself, “Would I still write this if it only changed one person?” Because sometimes that one person is exactly who it was meant for. And maybe, just maybe, that person is you (three years ago). .

Consistency Is Kingdom A Prosperous Currency
Let me say this loud for the back row of half-finished manuscripts — consistency is not optional if you want prosperity.
The Kingdom doesn’t grow on chaos; it grows on rhythm. Galatians 6:9 reminds us not to grow weary in doing good, because at the right time, we’ll reap a harvest if we don’t give up.
Writing is the same. Consistency is your currency. It’s how you invest in your calling.
You don’t have to write for hours. You just have to write faithfully. Set a rhythm — a paragraph a day, a page a week — whatever works for your season. Because the seed doesn’t sprout overnight, but it will sprout. And when it does, it won’t be because you hustled harder, but because you stayed planted.
Collaborate, Don’t Compete
Comparison kills creativity faster than doubt ever will.
We live in a world that turns art into a scoreboard, but Kingdom creativity isn’t about competition, it’s about collaboration.
Think about it: the body of Christ has many parts for a reason. The writer, the editor, the artist, the marketer — each one adds to the story God is telling through you, if you let him. He doesn’t need help from Jackie Taylor with 100k followers. You focus on your spirit whispers and let God do His part.
Kingdom writers know this. They share knowledge, celebrate others, and build bridges instead of barriers. Because when one of us wins, the Kingdom wins.
So instead of side-eyeing someone else’s success, learn from it, give them a compliment, like-share-share and check all the boxes. Cheer for them. Connect with them. You never know, the very person you’re comparing yourself to might be the one God sent to help you grow.
Monetize With Integrity
Let’s talk money (that’s why we’re here right?), because yes, Writer Bestie, God cares about your bills too. God blesses His children. It’s a sad myth that followers of Christ believe Father wants us broke and struggling. Everyone in the bible (excluding King Saul) were poor and grew into their power and prosperous stations of wealth and status.
There’s a massive difference between chasing money and stewarding income. Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”
So what does all that mean to you? You can make money from your writing without manipulating, exaggerating, or overpromising. Prosperity doesn’t require you to sell your soul, just your services, ethically. Serve the people and the money will follow.
Price your work fairly. Market with honesty. Serve before you sell.
And never apologise for charging for your craft, your labour is worthy of its wages. Integrity is what makes your income sustainable.
Rest Like It’s Strategy
If you’re writing on fumes, that’s not faith, that’s fatigue dressed as productivity.
Even God rested. On the seventh day, He didn’t collapse; He paused to reflect and enjoy what He made. You’re allowed and highly encouraged to do the same (it’s actually written in the bible) to do the same.
Rest doesn’t mean quitting. It means trusting that what you’ve already done is enough for now and trust God to do His best work.
Some of your best creative downloads will come when you’re resting, not rushing. Take a walk. Journal with no goal. Create art, read the Bible. Watch your kid’s goofy dance routine without guilt. Prosperity is holistic, peace counts as profit too.
Give Before You Gain
You want your creativity to multiply? Give some of it away. What prompted this article was a Writer friend on Tiktok asking when he’s going to start profiting from his 2 or 3 book series? First let me say, Wow and congrats, seriously congratulate him on your commitment. Writing the book isn’t actually the hard part, it’s learning to market and connect with others. Most people do not know you exist and they’re waiting for you to introduce yourself to them.
That doesn’t mean devaluing your work; it means sowing seeds.
When you share freely , your wisdom, encouragement, or time — it opens space for blessings to flow back. Luke 6:38 promises that when we give, it’ll be given back to us, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.
Start with what you have. Write an article that helps someone else start. For myself I offer ways to write dialogue and beginner friendly tips for both novice and intermediate writers. But here’s the kicker, the examples I use to teach these short Tiktok/Pinterest lessons in my 3-7 slides are examples (or WIP examples) taken straight out of my book.
Offer advice to a beginner. Share your behind-the-scenes mess honestly.
The most prosperous writers aren’t hoarders of inspiration, they’re generous with it. Because they know God always refills what’s poured out. So, stop gatekeeping.
In short, rosperous writing isn’t about chasing numbers, it’s about nurturing what’s already in your hands.
You’re not behind. You’re not late. You’re just in the middle of your stewardship season and that’s normally the valley we all have issues journeying through.
When you manage your gift with purpose, consistency, integrity, and generosity, prosperity stops being a goal… and becomes a lifestyle.
So go on, Writer Bestie, write like someone who’s rich in faith, creativity, and obedience.
